Coretta King, We miss you already.

I cannot imagine how it feels to have the one you love, taken brutally from you, while your love for each other was in full bloom. Most people would have become bitter. You didn’t, and we loved you for that.

I remember that rally for peace, in 1967, San Francisco, Kezar Stadium, when you spoke to a full stadium of mostly white, spoiled, hippies who were anti-war, but didn't have a clue about peace. I was there; I remember it like it happened yesterday. Country Joe and the fish sang their hit song……it was that smart-alecky anti-war song. Then you rose to speak to the crowd. Your husband was speaking at another anti-war rally, so you were there without him. You spoke of peace that day, not in the same way as most of the radicals of that day. You were never radical, I remember your speech that day, you spoke about peace; world peace, peace in America and peace within our self.

You. Coretta were a lady, and we can see why Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. wanted you to be by his side forever. Cruel fate robbed both of you, but now gentle woman, you can stand side by side through eternity with the God you both loved, and the heavenly hosts.

Whew, I feel better now, Peace Moonbeam has posted again. Want to laugh?

Would you please look carefully at this picture I composed, and try to think what you would be praying for if you were the same age. When I was a child the age of these children, way back in the 1950's I remember praying that the Russians would not drop an atomic bomb on my school or home. Wake up world, you are scaring the children.
STOP, LOOK AND DO SOMETHING…I AM SHOCKED THAT IN THIS TIME OF PERIL FOR THE UNITED STATES AND THE WORLD….GROWN MEN & WOMEN ARE SPENDING TIME TRYING TO EMBARRASS OR EVEN IMPEACH PRESIDENT BUSH, AND GET RID OF KARL ROVE, RATHER THAN WORKING TO FIGHT TERRORISM.
PLEASE GET YOUR PRIORITIES STRAIGHT. ARGUING, BICKERING AND NAME CALLING DOES NOTHING TO STOP TERRORISM.

I orginally posted this July 23, 2005. I got all choked up again when I revisited these thoughts, knowing that there may not be anything anyone can do to save humanity. It is time for everyone to lift prayers to the Creator of All. God did not create sin, hate or death, Mankind did that. Let us all pray for God's patience, because it is getting close to the end.

Father of the Year

I don't think this father did the right thing, but even if it is not right, it needs to happen more frequently. Just my opinion.

TAMPA -- An angry father who marched into a classroom and punched a teacher's assistant in the face said Wednesday he was protecting his 15-year-old daughter, who had accused the man of inappropriately touching her.Dave F. Swafford, 42, was charged with felony battery on a school employee after he hit the 35-year-old aide in front of a class full of students at Lakewood Ranch High School near Bradenton Tuesday morning, authorities said. He was also named "Father of the Year'' by a local radio station for his actions.

"I'm not real proud of what I did,'' Swafford told The Associated Press Wednesday. "You have to protect your children, and my daughter does not lie to me.''

Because of the allegation, the school placed the assistant on paid leave Tuesday, school district spokeswoman Margi Nanney said. He has not been charged, but Manatee County Sheriff's Office spokesman Dave Bristow said deputies are investigating.The man has been employed by the Manatee County school district since 1999 and has a clean personnel record, Nanney said. His primary job is 'time-out'' teacher,' overseeing in-school suspension. His name is being withheld by the AP because he has not been charged.Swafford, the part owner of an air conditioning company, said he came to the school to meet with officials about allegations made by his daughter and other female students about the assistant's inappropriate touching and conduct. When he saw that the man was not in the meeting, he asked his daughter to take him to the classroom.``I wanted to know why the guy was in a classroom teaching after my daughter came forward,'' he said.A verbal exchange became heated, and "I lost control,'' he said. He spent about 10 hours in jail and got out later Tuesday after posting bond.The Tampa radio station that named him "Father of the Year'' offered him and his family tickets for the Daytona 500 race."If some other parents would do this, maybe some of these pedophiles would crawl back under rocks where they belong,'' Swafford said.

Tic Tac Toe

Now for another challenge, another puzzle. Like Hangman, it is a popular game. I’m talking about Tic Tac Toe, and I know you have played it sometime in your life; but did you know????

There is no way you could ever win a game of tic tac toe from me, if I start the game. Again, there is no way it could ever happen. And I will win a lot of the games of tic tac toe, that I start. There will be many games that the ‘cat gets’, but I will never lose if I have first choice.

The game portrayed in the clipart here, is one that never should have been lost. Yellow X had the first pick, and never should have lost to the Blue O. Yellow X was stupid.

As mentioned a few days ago, I have added an intriguing cyber game to Sanity’s Bluff, and some of you will like it. You will find it amongst all the clutter of my sidebar, to the right…Please don't stumble and fall off of the Bluff, making your way through all of the clutter. It is there waiting for you. It is called Hangman.

Hangman is a very addictive game if you are someone who loves the english language.

Now, if I get bored of the crusing the web, I spend some time at my own blog, thinking about words.

I am very good at this game.

Because I am such a neat guy, I will share some little tips about the game of hangman,that I was taught way back in the late 50’s by a public school teacher. This wonderful teacher was not a member of the NEA, but she knew how to teach rowdy red-headed boys to read. I will always be thankful that I sat in this teachers classroom. You would have had to have been there to understand. It was what I call; Teaching with Discipline. And it happened in the 1950’s. If todays educational monopoly really cared about teaching children, they would investigate what worked so well when the budgets were small and classes were big, yes the Leave it to Beaver Years in America.

Something I find paradoxal, is how the baby boomers (myself included) usually got everything we wanted from our parents, but at school we got what the board of education wanted us to get. And if we balked at this plan, we learned something about another board used in education.

But back to what the teacher taught me about hangman.

Here is how to start a game of hangman. Do you know the vowels of the English language? For all of you that graduated from American High School in the last 20 years, here are the vowels of the English language.

A…E…I….O….U….and sometimes Y.

You want to figure out the mystery word before hanging yourself?

Start the game of hangman by selecting vowels in the exact order they appear in the English language. A E I O U and sometimes Y

If it is a 7 letter word and you hit 3 A’s on the first guess………..you may not need to select vowels any more, but most of the time it will serve you well to select all 5 of the vowels, and then look carefully….could there be anyway that a ‘sometimes Y’ would be a vowel in the word?

After finishing off the vowels, you are ready for the consonants. Again, for those that have graduated from American High Schools in the last 20 years; consonants are the 20 or 19 remaining letters of the alphabet, the ones that are not vowels.

Do I need to explain the concept of alphabet?

So the next thing you should do is to try the consonants that show up the most often in words of the English language.

Here are the three consonants that appear the most frequently in the English language.

R, S and T

If you cannot correctly guess the word in question with this start, you may want to try Tinker Toys for mental stimulation.

William Teach, a blog doctor of some renown has a discussion on his blog addressing the many different disorders afflicting our friends and neighbors who are liberal.
As caring conservatives, I think we should learn to recognize signs that signal one of our neighbors is suffering from one of the many disorders which afflict progressives. [Would someone please wake me up when the liberals have progressed beyond Viet Nam, or Richard Nixon?]
OK, I have no idea if William Teach is a doctor, but he is doing the work of one; trying to heal the sick, lame, liberals and those stuck on stupid. Check out his article entitled, Progressive Mental Afflictions posted on his excellent blog, Pirates Cove.

One is a little cyber game of Hangman, which reminds me of ‘Wheel of Forture’, but it can be fun. Also there, is a puzzle called Match Up. I love these types of word puzzles. I matched all five of today’s words correctly on the first try, without looking the words up in my dictionary. Luck, pure luck….But old webloafer is pretty good at word games like Scrabble.

You won't find this comic strip in those 'ten pounds of paper' called the New York Times, Sunday Edition. You know.....the one that is brought to you via the death of a beautiful 27 year old tree. Chop 'em down NYTimes.......then blame Bush. This work of art isn't there because it does not fit the Liberal Template for Sunday Comics. In my opinion, todays publication is his best ever, and I am proud to be a part of spreading "Day by Day".....WAY TO GO CHRIS.....
The Mean Stream Media may never to give this popular comic strip space on their sacred comic page, but in the not so distant future, more people will be enjoying Day by Day, than Doonesbury. After all, people read blogs with a interest the yellow rag will never again get. The darling of the yellow rags when it comes to comics, is of course Doonesbury, created by the talented Canadian that hates America. But more and more people have found better ways to get their news and entertainment. In today's fast paced world, the yellow rags are seldom read. But there are still good uses for the New York Times.......PUPPY TRAINING AND PARAKEET CAGE LINING.

When someone makes a public mistake, and is man/woman enough to admit it, I think more of that person.
Mayor Ray (I know he has a lot on his mind) Nagin, of New Orleans, said some offensive and insensitive things that the new media got wind of, pondered and then ran with. That is how it should be friends, people must be held accountable for public statements. The mean street media will never mention anyones misspeaks, unless they are Conservative Republicans. That doesn't fly anymore because there is the New Media. Mayor Ray, apoligized today, and I think a lot more of him now, because he did. Unlike Hillary Clinton who will not apoligize for her race baiting speech given on the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr's Holiday, 2006, Ray Nagin now has my respect. And to prove it, I downsized the pictorial parody I posted yesterday here at Sanity's Bluff.
You are a man, mayor, and hopefully you will have better days ahead. Some of the other parts of the same chocolate speech were thoughtful, timely and inspiring. Hillary Rodham will never apoligize for anything she has said, done or paid someone else to do; until she stands before the great white throne of judgement That is when she will face the only judge that matters, GOD, and she will be judged by the words of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Money, Political Power, Friends or Family will not help anyone in that day.....We will all stand by ourselves and give account of what we have done with the life GOD CREATED.

I am sure the MSM (mean spirited media), is waiting for the big number to arrive. What a milestone.

Just like the celebration they had for the 2,000^th death of our nations warriors, I know they are waiting with baited breath to announce to the world the great number reached by their friends the terrorists.

Approaching fast, and deadly is the 4,000^th Muslim Attack on civilization since September 11^th 2001.

LOOK OVER TO THE RIGHT TO THE SIDEBAR, SCROLL DOWN UNTIL YOU COME TO THE COUNT OF THOSE KILLED BY THE PEACEFUL RELIGION OF ISLAM.

Of course each of those 4,000 attacks had numerous killed, and many more wounded, so if we all get our calculators out, it would only take an hour or so to tally up the death toll. I would estimate it to be about 38,000 humans killed, and 134,000 wounded.

This milestone could not have been reached, without the help of others. Much credit must be given to the enablers of terrorism, the New York Times, Newsweek, DNC, George Soros, Kennedy and Company. Their tireless assualt on George Bush and America helped the terrorists stay focused, encouraged and unafraid.

You'll never believe this...

If you ever hear a truck driver say,

“You’ll never believe this,”

Sit down and listen up, it’ll be worth your while.

You’ll never believe this, but on my return run back to the city tonight, I noticed what looked like a person face down on the shoulder of the road. I stopped as soon as I could get my diesel truck safely over on the shoulder, set the brakes and quickly climbed down to the road. I ran back (well ran may be stretching it a bit, cut and paste, walked quickly, for ran) to see if I could help.

Out of breath, I finally made it to where the person was. Yes it was a person, a man, and the man was obviously inebriated for he was crawling on all fours.

Well, not exactly on all fours….he was using two feet and one hand to crawl down the side of the highway. In his free hand he had one of those Blackberries, Blueberries or whatever they are. You know, those miniature computers with wireless cell phone internet.

It really was an eerie sight. Pitch black night, and a drunk crawling along the side of the highway, using his little handheld’s LCD Display to light his way.

I walked along side of him for a short while, but finally had to ask…… “Excuse me sir, do you need help?”

The drunk stopped crawling and painstakingly slow, sat up and while his head was swaying north to south, slurringly* informed me.

“Nah…..I’z got Google Earth mappin me way home.”

This Picture Haunts Me

It is a picture of an Iraqi woman searching for remains of someone she loved. It was taken at one of the many mass graves where Hussein buried those he had killed. From the size of the jaw bone, she is trying to find the remains of a grown-up; perhaps her husband, brother or father. She is trying to find some remains by looking at teeth in a jawbone. For millions of people in Iraq there has been no closure when it came to the disappearance of a loved one.

The reason I shared this: It helps to explain the determination of the Iraqi people. Yesterday was one bad day for civilians in Iraq. When we hear about over a hundred civilians dying in one day of terrorist activity, we cringe and wonder how they do it.

Could it be they don’t want to dig through any more mass graves looking for a few bones of someone they loved to give a decent burial?

At least with the remains of the hundred plus civilians the terrorists murdered yesterday, there will be a decent burial, with friends and relatives meeting to mourn or eulogize.

Has anyone noticed a trend in modern day journalism?

1. Forged documents in an attempt to sway an election.
2. Lies and more lies about what was happening in New Orleans after the hurricane caused flood.
3. Now, the rush to be the first one to spread the news about the 12 coal miners that CNN, FOX and others said were found alive. No collaborating, just rush to the wires.
After work last night, I read the wires and debated with myself whether or not to write an article about the event as it was being portrayed. I’m glad I didn’t.

The killers of my mother-in-law and father-in-law: my wifes mother and father, my daughters grandmother and grandfather....had only one thing on their police record. One of the twin brothers that killed these elderly, peaceful humans, had phoned in a bomb threat to the school he was enrolled at.

Here are photos of two very rare National Geographic Magazine Issues. These Issues have a flimsy plastic 33 1/3 rpm record sheet inserted into the magazine. If you were to remove them from the magazine, you would find that they actually work. That is if you could find a phonograph player.
I have heard both of these records. In this digital age, these records are nothing but a side note to history. Who has a phonograph anymore? Everything is digital and on the internet. There must be about 2,345,987 songs and audio files available for downloading on the internet.

After hours of searching I was able to find a link to the Song of the Humpback Whale, but haven't tracked down a file of the Funeral of Winston Churchill.

You now have a chance to WIN a piece of history.

95% of the record sheets in the original issues of the magazine shown here, were removed immediately upon arrival to homes throughout the world in August 1965 or January 1979, and played on the familys Zenith Phonographic HiFi. Very few of these magazines remain intact in such pristene condition. I have more of these magazines, I have collected NGS Mags and Maps for years. I fell in love with Geography when I was 9 years old, and 50+ years later, Geography is still one of my many passions.........Hopefully, this contest will generate traffic here AT SANITY'S BLUFF.

The contest about Ted Kennedy's Oldsmobile, was a dismal failure, since there was no real prize. Having learned from these mistakes, I present WebLoafers's Web Contest No. 2.
