A Photo that says 25,000,000 words

Iraqi voters line up outside a polling site in Barwana, Iraq, Dec. 15, 2005. Iraqi citizens are electing their first permanent parliamentary government, which will lead the new democracy for the next four years.

ENLARGE THIS JPEG BY CLICKING ON IT,

AND IT WILL MAKE YOU PROUD THAT YOU STOOD WITH IRAQ. AND A TEAR MAY WELL UP IN YOUR EYE WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT THE TERRIBLE PRICE MANY HAD TO PAY TO SEE A PICTURE LIKE THIS. SOME MOTHERS AND FATHERS HAVE HAD TO BURY A SON OR DAUGHTER TO MAKE THIS THRILLING MOMENT POSSIBLE. I AM HUMBLED TO SEE THIS, AND LOVE MY COUNTRY MORE AND MORE EACH DAY. AND I WILL NOT FORGET THE RESOLVE OF TWO MEN, REAL MEN. TONY BLAIR AND GEORGE W. BUSH.

It sure does, and nothing any of the whiners say will matter to me.

Wow, that picture grabs you. Thanks for sharing it. It choked me up to think of the desire in all of us to be free. Many many more people are going to want freedom because of Great Britain and the United States and others who put it all on the line. It really really touched me to see these mostly poor people standing in long lines to be a part of this historical day.
I imagine everyone in that line, knows someone or is related to someone that the terrorists killed.
Terrorism in Iraq is over when almost everyone who could walk went to vote.

obviously a fake picture. Probably taken near Miami.

Sometimes we just have to think about it all.
These people in Iraq want what we take for granted.
They are spilling blood, and wanting.
America has lost many wonderful sons and daughters, but nothing like the blood the Iraqii's are spilling.

Ready, here is Dean's response:

Is that more "evidence" like what Colin Powell presented to the UN?

Nice picture though. I think the American people (at least not the apethitic ones) are beginning to realize that this is something bigger than WMD and Osama. The White House has done a bad job of explaining it, but this type of image helps.

Interesting pic..I wonder how many Americans would stand in a line like this to vote.
Maybe the Iraqis know something we don`t.

No, but for the Iraqis, this is like a cool glass of water in the desert (no pun intended)... for Americans, voting is just another blessing we take for granted.

How come this was never on the front page of my local newspaper? This is a PulizterPrize, quality photo.
Is this a plot to ignore the good things happening?
I am confused, Is this really what is happening in Iraq, or is it a Photoshopped Photo?
If this is true, I am having second thoughts about the whole affair.
I have avoided long lines for years now, if there will be a crowd, I ignore. Could this be true? I would never stand in a line that long to cast a vote for anyone.
