Interesting Factoids

Maybe we should have doctor control?

Number of physicians in the USA-----700,000
Accidental deaths caused by physicians each year-----120,000

Accidental deaths per physician-----0.171

Number of gun owners in the USA-----80,000,000
Number of accidental gun deaths each year -----1,500

Accidental deaths per gun owner-----0.0000188

Conclusion......Doctors are approximately 9,000 times more likely to kill you accidentally than a gun owner.

Note: Figures taken from sources on the internet and are not guaranteed to be accurate, but the trend is interesting.

Amazing, astounding and I'll assume accurate. But I have to admit that Scooter makes an excellent point.
Peace...........

Scooter, you are so correct a lot of people die because of someone using a gun...the gun is not what gets the blame, it is the person who pulls the trigger.

And about the number of people being purposely killed by doctors.
Since 1972 doctors have killed about 4 million humans, in the USofA. Anyone of those humans had no say in the matter.

And Doctor Life, guns most certainly have saved a lot of lifes...many of them. In fact the gun in our soldiers hand in Iraq may be saving millions of our lifes. And you would be suprized how many crimes are stopped because of the gun. Police and citizens stop crime daily. But take the guns away from the citizens and crime will explode.

booklover, please reread my answer to Scooter.
You must know, I am time challenged, so little for myself....I am giving my time to the world, with one goal.........improving the world, and pointing everyone to the way to get to the next step in eternity.

And Scooter, It is not my intention to argue just so i can win, I would rather respect your point of view, even lose the argument, but to have planted the seeds of truth in your mind.
Listen to your conscience, it will tell you that your mother and father were pro-life.
Aren't you happy.

One more time for booklover, here is the answer to Scooter's question.

I won't say that word.....the one that has done so much damage, for it is a word that never needed to be coined.
Life is all, all other is death.....when you have a written note from the creator, that it is OK to kill something He gave life too, I'll quit being pro-life.

Thanks for stopping by! I took a class recently that covered the deaths caused by doctors. It is called death to to Iatrogenic causes which are medical illnesses induced by the medical profession. It is the fourth leading killer of Americans after heart disease, cancer, and car accidents.

Maciej, I read your comment,
thought about it, then looked at your profile: I had no clue as to what you were talking about. But I did know that you like some of the same literature I enjoy.

The music you youngin's listen to nowadays, is nothing like the music of my youth, It is not saying I don't like your music, it is just I don't know anything about any of it.

To me the apex of my musical enjoyment was in the late '60's in California, and New York....as in the Fillmore West and the Fillmore East. One of the closest friends of my youth was Jacques G*******ski, who like you was born in Poland. Of course he was born in the the early 1950's.

For many years we worked along side of each other hauling hay and doing other low paying agriculture jobs in California. Life was simple then, we didn't need much money, and we enjoyed living. We always found someway to live close to each other..for we loved to talk with each other. I could write a book about Jack. Never understand why he gave a french spelling to his name? Must be a European thing. Two people could not get much closer than Jack and myself, but those were the years of Steffenwolf, Janis Joplin, and The Velvet Underground....and later on the Fleetwood Mac.

These years also introduced me to California Politics, and the the much hated Governor of California (at that time), Ronald Reagan.

Funny how time sorts things out......Now a neocon, and Ronald Reagan my role model. Hold on there, I still can have role models, I ain't through learning and living.

Did you notice the last two musdical bands mentioned? What one thing did they have in common?

Think everyone...........Velvet Underground and Fleetwood Mac?

Think..
..
Only one thing needs to be said! Stevie Nicks for President....

But I am too old to know anything about your tastes in music.
I don't know why I am getting so long winded now, just enjoying life and remembering times past.
Could write a big book about Jack and John....
Stop by Sanity's Bluff anytime my friend,
